Mitch On CNN With Piers Morgan Sept 13th

News

Piers Morgan’s prime time exclusive interview with Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse, aired Tuesday Sept 13 at 9pmET/PT. Mitch opened up about her drug and alcohol use. “I was concerned, but I could draw on the experiences that we had with the recovery from the drugs,” Winehouse said. “What she did as far as the drugs were concerned was incredible.”

While Amy had stopped taking drugs, Mitch says she continued drinking. “She would drink for two or three weeks and then she would detox for two or three weeks, and that’s the worst thing,” he said. “Her doctor…said if this behavior continued – the binge drinking then the detoxing – that could lead to seizures that could ultimately lead to death.”

The Winehouse Family on Anderson Cooper Sept 12th

News

Anderson Cooper debuted his new daytime talk show on 12th Septemebr and he had a riveting lineup for the first episode: the family and boyfriend of late singer Amy Winehouse.

Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse, mother Janis, brother Alex and boyfriend Reg Traviss sat down with Cooper for the first episode of Cooper’s new show.

“I’ve followed her career for a long time,” said Cooper. “Her music is extraordinary. And she’s such a remarkable talent. What’s remarkable about this family is they’ve been so public before her death about trying to get her help.”

Cooper, who’s already filmed a few episodes of his new show including a sit-down with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” sat down with Amy’s family on Friday to discuss their attempts to help her.

The interview was screened in the US on Monday September 12th 2011.
