STRIDE Foundation Race Day Fundraiser

This Friday 1st August 2014, model and actor Paul Sculfor will host the inaugural launch event for his charitable initiative, STRIDE, in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

STRIDE’s goal is to raise awareness and provide direct resources to those who may not have access or support to continue with their recovery and re-integration into society. The definition of the word stride is: “walk with long, decisive steps in a specified direction.” – STRIDE aims to facilitate this journey by supporting and contributing to local charity initiatives and improving public perception surrounding addiction.

To mark the occasion Paul, an avid petrol head, has chosen a track day, where he will be joined by friends from the fashion and entertainment industry.

The launch event will be a fun day for all involved whilst fundraising for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a cause close to Paul’s heart. Throughout  his professional life, Paul noticed a high rate in addiction problems and after his personal experience with recovery; he is passionate about helping others. Recognising and understanding the difficulties in integrating and continuing to function within society during recovery has inspired Paul to set up STRIDE.

About the Amy Winehouse Foundation

In Amy’s memory, we work to inspire children and young people to build their self-esteem and resilience, so that they can flourish.

Our work is inspired by Amy’s spirit, her love of children and the challenges that she faced in her own life.

Today, the Amy Winehouse Foundation helps thousands of young people to feel supported and informed so that they are better able to manage their emotional wellbeing and make informed choices around things that can affect their lives.

We’re able to do this because of the support we receive from people like you. Anyone who believes in young people can become a part of our work and Amy’s legacy. By supporting our work, you will help them to transform their lives, flourish and be heard.
