British Independent Film Festival 2012 supports the Foundation – Saturday 12th May – Buy your tickets now

The British Independent Film Festival 2012 (BIFF) will be taking place across the country on the 11th and 12th May.

One of the films included in the festival is Irvine Welsh’s Ecstasy, and organisers of the event, The Film Festival Guild, will kindly be donating 25% of all ticket sales to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Based on Irvine Welsh’s book, Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance, ECSTASY is a twisted tale that explores the euphoric highs and the devastating lows of a chemical romance. Lloyd (Adam Sinclair) is on top of the world – beautiful girls, great club sounds, and a never ending supply of the love drug, sustained by a smuggling sideline for the local drug boss Solo (Carlo Rota). But when he meets Heather (Kristin Kreuk) he is forced to question if the love he feels is real or just another chemical high. As cracks start to appear in his world he realises he wants out. If he can just pull off one last trip for Solo, he’ll be free.

These two exclusive screenings of Ecstasy will take place on Saturday 12th May at 4:15pm at the following locations:

Empire Leicester Square – London

The Apollo Cinema – Port Talbot

About the Amy Winehouse Foundation

In Amy’s memory, we work to inspire children and young people to build their self-esteem and resilience, so that they can flourish.

Our work is inspired by Amy’s spirit, her love of children and the challenges that she faced in her own life.

Today, the Amy Winehouse Foundation helps thousands of young people to feel supported and informed so that they are better able to manage their emotional wellbeing and make informed choices around things that can affect their lives.

We’re able to do this because of the support we receive from people like you. Anyone who believes in young people can become a part of our work and Amy’s legacy. By supporting our work, you will help them to transform their lives, flourish and be heard.
